Social
Volleyball is a social sport. Here in the Hunter, volleyball creates a gathering place for all ages looking to play, socialise and compete to the best of their ability.
Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned competitor, we've got some great options for adults to get involved in volleyball with three different adult competitions running throughout the year.

HV CUP HALF DAY TOURNAMENTS
Hunter Volleyball will host three half-day tournaments targeted at C Grade and Mixed Recreational teams, as part of a pre-season return to sport. The competitions will be played at the basketball stadium Broadmeadow.
Information about nominating your team will be available soon, with nominations opening Wednesday 5th February.

Tuesdays Graded
Tuesdays at our Newcastle City hub in Broadmeadow is a graded competition for A, B, and C Grade players.
This venue is popular due to its central position, however spaces for new players and teams is limited unfortunately. Each season we host player grading sessions to find suitable players to join teams which have a vacancy for specific positions or experience levels.
The 2025 season is going to be super busy as we try to manage fair access by more members, as a result of losing court space elsewhere in the region.
2025 SEASON INFORMATION
Tuesday 14th January - Captains Meeting - Broadmeadow
Tuesday 21st & 28th January - A & B Grade men's teams training
Tuesday 4th February - A & B Grade men's season begins
Monday 10th February - C Grade team nominations open (see below)
NOTE: There will be separate information and separate dates available for new players to come along and get find ways to join teams in any of the divisions above, for competitions offered in 2025.
Women's Graded
The 2025 season will feature some adjustments, as we manage reduced court spaces, and do our best to balance access by our growing community.
Our goal is fielding 4 teams in both A and B Grade divisions for the competition starting Tuesday 11th March and finishing on Tuesday 13th May.
Saturday 22nd February - Women's A & B Grade training & recruitment day
12.00 - 2.30pm Returning A Grade teams plus players seeking A Grade positions
2.30pm - 5.00pm Returning B Grade teams plus players seeking B Grade positions
We're working hard to build the pathway for women and girls to enjoy the game as beginners, intermediate social players, or experienced players seeking high intensity games.
Mixed Recreational Competitions
We have an awesome community of Adult Mixed Recreational players competing where the spirit of the game is "Fun and Fair Play at all times!".
No uniforms, no team, no worries, we'll help you find a team or welcome new teams as we cater for up to 8 teams per season. Every week there's a new themed Playlist and throughout the season we sprinkle in some coaching sessions to help everyone improve their skills.
In 2025 we will have competitions running at Broadmeadow and Maitland, so stay tuned for news on how to nominate your team ... or register as an individual looking for other like-minded players to join with each week.
