President's End of Season Message

At our 3rd annual Hunter Volleyball Awards night, President Danielle Tansu welcomed everyone attending and shared the following message, wrapping up the 2025 season.
"Tonight is a celebration — not just of results, medals, and standout performances — but of resilience, community, and belief in what we can build together.
This year marks our first year flying solo after separating from Volleyball NSW. It was a leap, we took it and we flew. While we remain hopeful that our regional partners will one day receive the long overdue recognition and support from the state — support that may allow us to return to that relationship in the future — for now, we continue to forge our own path with pride and purpose.
One of the biggest challenges this year has been the ongoing search for a home. We continue the hunt for indoor court space we can hire, while also scouting potential locations for a permanent Hunter Volleyball facility. This work is complex, slow, and sometimes frustrating, but it is vital. I want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to our Facility Subcommittee members Rebecca, Steve and Lizzie for your time working Michelle, your insight, and your patience in helping Hunter Volleyball navigate this landscape. Your guidance has been invaluable, and because of your efforts, we remain genuinely hopeful that 2026 will be the year we secure a home of our own.
In the meantime, thank you to everyone in our community who is helping build this dream. To those fundraising, advocating, donating, showing up, and giving back — you are the foundation of everything we do. Hunter Volleyball isn’t held together by funding or facilities; it’s held together by people who care.
A special thank you must also go to Michelle — for your dedication, your drive, and your tireless commitment to this community’s success. You have been a force behind the scenes and on the stage, pushing, organising, connecting, and keeping us moving forward. Your passion has made a real and lasting impact, and we are deeply grateful.
A special shout-out to our juniors — both current players and those who have recently aged out — who are already stepping up to coach, referee, and support new athletes. The fact that our young people want to invest in the next generation speaks volumes about this community and the culture we have built.
None of this can happen without sacrifice. Time is the most valuable thing we have, and so many of you continue to give yours freely so others can play, learn, and grow. We are indebted to every volunteer, parent, committee member, coach, referee, and supporter who has stepped up this year.
Tonight, we honour excellence on court — but just as importantly, we honour effort, passion, and community spirit. This is a celebration of what Hunter Volleyball has become, and a reminder of what we are working toward.
Thank you again for being here tonight. Enjoy the evening, celebrate each other, and let’s look forward to another incredible year of growth, connection, and volleyball in the Hunter."
As we wrap up the 2025 season and coordinate our 2026 activities, we want to wish all of our Members, their families and supporters a happy and safe holiday season. We look forward to seeing everyone around the courts in the New Year!
